Kei's Mother left he and his father soon after he was born leaving him to a man who wasn't father material. He grew up with a careless older bother more than a father but he was there for him none the less and Kei even grew up like most boys if not a little reserved.

His father was and artist and a very talented one at that which only inspired Kei to follow in his foot steps but he never truly believed he had any talent in the subject.

Not long after Kei turned 17 his father died in a freak car accident which Kei fear he was to blame for, since it had been his own class exhibition his father was coming to. After that Kei was forced into several foster homes growing more and more withdrawn, prone to headaches or outbursts where he'd tell people in a room to be quiet although no one was with him or speaking.

Now he is left to Bakuzen so no one else would suffer the responsibilty of him
